OPCA SCHOLARSHIP FUND

OPCA is proud to be able to offer a generous scholarship each year! The OPCA board approved one for $1,000 this year. Let us know if you're interested! Applications due APRIL 30. This is a firm date. Late applications will not be considered until the following year. In 2023, scholarship eligibility was expanded to include people pursuing advanced degrees (MS, Ph.D.).

Scholarship Eligibility

A. Applicant must be an owner, an immediate family member, employee, child or stepchild of an employee, or employee's spouse of an OPCA member firm.

B. Applicant must be nominated by a current OPCA member firm whose active or limited membership has been in good standing a minimum of three consecutive years. Consideration will be given to active or limited member firms that have been affiliated with OPCA for more than 3 consecutive years through previous employers.

C. Eligibility applies to graduating high school seniors, other high school graduates and applicants with G.E.D equivalent; currently enrolled college students; and those pursuing post graduate education (MA/Ph.D.) in a subject of significance to the pest control industry.

D. Applicant must attend an accredited college university, trade school, or institute of higher learning.

E. Transcripts may be requested if required by the institution to which the applicant has applied.

OPCA DUES DEDUCTION POLICY

Dues to the Oregon Pest Control Association are not deductible as a charitable contribution, but may be deductible as a business expense.  However, a portion of dues is not deductible to the extent that OPCA engages in industry lobbying.  Active Members: The deductible portion of the OPCA dues is 88%, and the deductible portion of NPMA dues is 94%. Limited Members: The deductible portion of OPCA dues is 88%.
