Scholarship
The Oregon Pest Control Association is proud to support education through the OPCA Scholarship Program. Each year, OPCA awards scholarships to qualified applicants connected to OPCA member firms who are pursuing higher education.
Scholarship applications are accepted November 1 through April 30 each year. The application deadline of April 30 is firm, and late submissions will be considered for the following year’s scholarship cycle.
The OPCA Board of Directors has approved a $1,000 scholarship award for the current year. In recent years, eligibility has been expanded to include individuals pursuing advanced degrees such as a Master’s or Ph.D., particularly in fields related to the pest management industry.
Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the OPCA Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
A. The applicant must be an owner, employee, immediate family member, child or stepchild of an employee, or spouse of an employee of an OPCA member firm.
B. The applicant must be nominated by a current OPCA member firm whose Active or Limited Membership has been in good standing for a minimum of three consecutive years. Consideration may also be given to member firms with more than three consecutive years of industry affiliation through previous employers.
C. Eligible applicants include:
- Graduating high school seniors
- High school graduates or individuals with a G.E.D. equivalent
- Currently enrolled college students
- Individuals pursuing postgraduate education (MA or Ph.D.) in a subject relevant to the pest management industry
D. Applicants must plan to attend or be enrolled in an accredited college, university, trade school, or institute of higher learning.
E. Transcripts may be requested if required by the institution the applicant plans to attend.

The OPCA Scholarship Fund is made possible through the generosity of members, industry partners, and supporters who believe in investing in the future of our profession. Donations help OPCA continue providing financial assistance to students connected to the pest management industry who are pursuing higher education and professional development.
Contributions of any size are welcome and go directly toward supporting the annual scholarship award. Donations may be made by OPCA members, companies, vendors, and individuals who want to help strengthen the next generation of industry professionals.
