WSDA Continues Yellow-Legged Hornet Surveillance in Vancouver Area

WSDA continues surveying the Vancouver area after a live yellow-legged hornet was intercepted in May. No additional hornets have been detected. The public and pest management professionals are encouraged to report possible sightings and subscribe to WSDA updates.

Bees of Oregon 2025: New Findings on Pollinator Health, Habitat and Biodiversity

Oregon State University’s Bees of Oregon 2025 report highlights major progress in pesticide education, pollinator habitat, invasive species monitoring and wild bee research. More than 12,000 pesticide applicators have received bee-protection training, while the Oregon Bee Atlas now documents 567 species and more than 180,000 specimen records. The report also examines honey bee colony losses, emerging threats and the need for continued program funding.
