Tick Awareness Week Serves as Pivotal Time to Educate Consumers Ahead of Summer

Tick Awareness Week (May 3–9, 2026) highlights the growing risks of tick-borne illnesses as activity expands nationwide. The Professional Pest Management Alliance encourages pest professionals to educate consumers on prevention, early detection, and when to seek professional help. With nearly 475,000 Lyme disease cases annually, raising awareness is critical. The Alliance also urges companies to share educational content and utilize available marketing resources to support outreach efforts.

NPMA is now accepting nominations and applications for its 2026 awards and grants, including new opportunities like the Technology Adopter Award and PestVets Next Rank Fund. These programs recognize leadership, innovation, community impact, and professional growth across the industry. Submissions are due by June 30, with winners honored at PestWorld 2026.

Nominations are now open for the 2026–2027 OPCA Board of Directors. Eligible members are encouraged to step into leadership roles and help guide the association’s future. Officer positions follow a four-year leadership track, while Members-at-Large serve as key contributors on the Board. Elections will take place at the OPCA High Desert Meeting, June 4–5. Submit your nomination to get involved and make an impact.
